Back Injuries & Pain
About the Injury
Back pain can make everyday activities like sitting, lifting, walking, and sleeping difficult. Physical therapy provides a safe, non-invasive approach to reducing pain, restoring movement, and helping you return to the activities you enjoy.
Your physical therapist will evaluate the underlying causes of your back pain, including muscle imbalances, joint stiffness, disc issues, posture, and movement patterns. Based on this evaluation, a personalized treatment plan is developed to address your specific symptoms and goals.
Treatment may include hands-on techniques to improve spinal mobility, reduce muscle tension, and decrease discomfort. Targeted stretching and strengthening exercises help support the spine, improve core stability, and enhance flexibility.
Research shows early access to physical therapy reduces overall healthcare costs and leads to improved short and long-term outcomes. Physical therapists are trained to recognize when back pain may require referral to other healthcare professionals or when other diagnostic tests are needed such as MRIs, plain films (x-rays), etc. In addition, your physical therapist will work with your healthcare team to coordinate a comprehensive treatment plan. Many patients experience reduced pain, improved posture and mobility, increased confidence in movement, and greater independence in managing symptoms.
With consistent care and expert guidance, physical therapy helps you move more comfortably, prevent future flare-ups, and improve your overall quality of life.
